Zhongke New Materials has been successfully selected for the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s “Biomanufacturing Pilot-Scale Capability Construction Platform (First Batch).”

Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology officially released the “List of Pilot-Scale Capacity‑Building Platforms for Biomanufacturing (First Batch),” and Ningxia Zhongke New Materials Co., Ltd., located in the Shizuishan Economic and Technological Development Zone, was honorably included, becoming the only enterprise from the Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region to make this national‑level list. This prestigious national certification not only represents the culmination of Zhongke New Materials’ years of dedicated work in the biomanufacturing sector but also embodies the concerted efforts of the governments at the Ningxia, Shizuishan, and Huinong District levels—through targeted support and precision‑driven initiatives. It marks a significant milestone in the collaborative efforts between government and industry to drive innovation and technology transfer in biomanufacturing, injecting strong momentum into the development of Ningxia’s strategic emerging industries.

With the national strategy gaining momentum, pilot-scale platforms have become pivotal to industrial upgrading.

As a strategic emerging industry, biomanufacturing relies on pilot-scale testing as the “bridge” that connects laboratory breakthroughs with industrial-scale production. In June this year, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the National Development and Reform Commission jointly issued the “Notice on Launching the Cultivation of Pilot-Scale Capacity‑Building Platforms for Biomanufacturing,” setting a clear goal: by 2027, more than 20 national-level pilot platforms will be established, forming a comprehensive support system spanning “small‑scale validation—pilot‑scale expansion—industrial application.” Against this backdrop, governments at all levels in Ningxia have provided targeted support through R&D subsidies, land‑use guarantees, and talent‑attraction initiatives. Shizuishan City has even designated biomanufacturing as a core pillar of its “industry‑driven city‑building” strategy, establishing a dedicated task force led by the city’s top officials and implementing a tailored assistance mechanism of “one enterprise, one policy.” Meanwhile, Huinong District has focused on park‑level infrastructure, crafting customized solutions to ensure that key resources follow each project. This tiered, cascading policy framework across three administrative levels has laid a solid foundation for the growth of Ningxia Zhongke Bio‑New Materials Co., Ltd. The Shizuishan Economic Development Zone helped the company refine its technological strengths and polish its application materials, ultimately enabling Zhongke New Materials to stand out among numerous national competitors, join the first cohort of 43 national‑level platforms alongside industry leaders, and earn a three‑star service‑capability rating—allowing “Made in Ningxia” to shine on the national stage.

Ten years of technological expertise have forged robust capabilities in green manufacturing.

Ningxia CAS Bio‑New Materials Co., Ltd., a high‑tech enterprise of the autonomous region, remains focused on the core field of biomanufacturing. Leveraging two region‑level R&D centers—the Ningxia CAS Joint Research and Development Center for Biomaterials and the Ningxia Engineering Technology R&D Center for Bio‑based Materials—the company has deeply cultivated industrialization technologies for long‑chain dicarboxylic acids, overcoming the limitations of conventional chemical synthesis. By employing a self‑developed third‑generation bio‑based production process and utilizing aqueous‑phase purification, it achieves end‑to‑end operations free from organic solvent contamination, with product purity meeting polymer‑grade standards. Its products are widely used in areas such as new‑energy vehicles, advanced materials, and pharmaceutical intermediates.

To date, the company has obtained nearly 20 domestic and international patents and has commissioned a production line with an annual capacity of 50,000 tons of long-chain dicarboxylic acids. Through continuous technological innovation and steady industrial development, it has not only achieved stable mass production of long-chain dicarboxylic acid products but has also expanded into L‑malic acid, DHA, L‑lactic acid, and other specialties, while intensifying R&D on high‑value‑added downstream product lines, thereby effectively extending its industrial chain. Furthermore, the company’s specialized pilot‑scale platform now offers testing, analysis, and pilot‑production services across multiple sectors, including food and food additives, biopharmaceuticals, and cosmetics, providing robust technical‑transfer support to both upstream and downstream segments of the value chain.

Empowering regional industries and building a hub of innovation in biomanufacturing.

This selection not only recognizes the company’s technological prowess but also underscores the Shizuishan Economic Development Zone’s tangible achievements in fostering a robust industrial ecosystem. In recent years, the zone has established an end-to-end service system encompassing “policy support—technological breakthroughs—pilot-scale testing and commercialization—mass production,” leveraging initiatives such as industry–finance collaboration, talent development, and resource aggregation to accelerate the growth of the biomanufacturing sector. Leveraging the energy‑supply advantages of its own captive power plant, the zone has achieved integrated cogeneration of heat, electricity, and steam, effectively reducing production costs for enterprises and laying the groundwork for the large‑scale operation of its pilot‑scale platforms.

Standing at a new starting point, the pace of high-quality development has grown even more resolute. Being selected for a national-level platform marks a fresh beginning; Ningxia Zhongke Bio‑New Materials Co., Ltd. will take its pilot‑scale platform as its core, accelerate the R&D of high‑value‑added downstream products, deepen collaborative innovation with research institutions and upstream and downstream enterprises, and contribute to the construction of the Shizuishan Biomanufacturing Industrial Demonstration Park, thereby seizing the initiative on the emerging track of green and low‑carbon development.
